All EYE want for Christmas is Eyeshadow Palettes

When writing out my Christmas list, I couldn’t think of much that I needed or wanted other than makeup and clothes. So that’s exactly what I got. I thought it would be great to share what eyeshadow palettes I got for Christmas and how I feel about them so far (spoiler: I love them all!)

The Masquerade By Juvia’s

This palette has been on my list for quite a while. After seeing all the hype from so many you tubers, especially Nikkitutorials, I knew this palette would be a great addition to my collection.

Juvia’s place deserves all the hype that they have been getting for their shadows. The shadows are super pigmented, creamy, and unique. I love that they aren’t making palettes in the same schemes as every other brand.

The Jaclyn Hill Palette with Morphe

This palette actually wasn’t on my list, but my fiancé had seen me fawn over this palette every time we stepped foot in an Ulta. I was immediately drawn to the beautiful blues and the shimmery pinks.

I did have some concerns with this palette. Because of all the hype, I was a bit worried that it wouldn’t live up to my expectations. I was also worried that I wouldn’t be able to create a good look out of this palette, but I was very wrong. This palette inspired me to step out of my comfort zone with my eyeshadow. So if you’re needing that extra creative boost, this is definitely a palette to consider.

Cat’s Pajamas by Laura Lee Los Angeles

I’m sure that anyone reading this blog post probably has a favorite beauty guru on youtube, or maybe a few favorites. I know I do. So, when Laura Lee announced she was releasing a palette, I knew I had to have it!

This palette is great because the color scheme is so centered, but at the same time there are a lot of opportunities for looks. The only downside to this palette is that there is a tiny bit of fallout, but that comes with most palettes. Everything else is great. The shimmers are amazing and the Mattes are super pigmented.

The Saharan by Juvia’s

Here’s another Juvia’s Place palette, obviously amazing. This palette wasn’t one that I specifically asked for, but I’m really glad that I got it.

The colors in this palette are a bit strange at first glance. I struggled to figure out how to incorporate some of the more obscure colors into looks, but I’m working on it. When I use this palette, I typically use shades from other palettes, then add one of the creamy shimmers to my lid for an extra pop of color. This palette is great if you are into bolder shades or you just want some good shimmers in your life!

I Think I Love You By Colourpop

Colourpop is a brand that I will forever stand by because they’re super affordable, the quality is amazing, and they’re always coming out with new things. So when I got this palette, I was super excited!

The shades in this palette are so cohesive and they’re great for an everyday look. If I need a quick, neutral eyeshadow look, I reach for this palette. The only downside to colourpop is that the formula takes a bit to get used to. I find that they don’t apply as well with fluffier eyeshadow brushes, I tend to lean towards a flat synthetic brush to apply, then I blend with a fluffier brush. The shimmers are best applied with a finger, much like almost any palette. This is a palette I would recommend to anyone, especially beginners because of the affordable price and the cohesive color scheme!
