One of my goals for 2018 was to begin a skin care routine. So, of course, I went to Ulta a few days after Christmas (3x points).
I have oily skin, except on and around my nose, so I needed something that would work for combination skin. I also have some acne and redness which I wanted to work on clearing up. Considering all of this and the fact that I needed to find something affordable because of being a college student, I searched through the aisles for half an hour or so. I ended up deciding on 4 products that have really been clearing up my skin. I chose a cleanser, exfoliator, blemish fader, and a moisturizer.
Best Face Forward Daily Foaming Cleanser
This cleanser is by the brand “Formula 10.0.6” and it’s super affordable at $5.99. It’s rated at 4.3/5.
This cleanser is great for my oily skin, but I’ve noticed that it is drying, so a moisturizer is imperative. It also does not remove makeup, it’s better for removing the oils that come from the day/night.
I only use this cleanser once a day because of how drying it is. I would recommend this to anyone that has oily skin as long as they use a moisturizer with it.
Peach & Willow Bark Deep Pore Scrub
This cleanser is Burt’s Bees Brand and it costs $8.49. This product is rated 3.7/5.
I only use this product one to two times a week so that I don’t irritate my skin. This exfoliator has definitely smoothed my skin. It’s especially great for my skin this winter.
The only downside is that the smell is not the greatest, but it’s only noticeable when first applying. After applying my other products the smell is unnoticeable.
On Your Mark Blemish Mark Fader
This blemish fader is also “Formula 10.0.6” and costs $7.99. The Ulta reviews give it a 4.6/5.
This product has to be my favorite out of any of the products I purchased. I use it twice a day on any blemishes I have. This product doesn’t have a strong smell and its not oily. It has a moisturizing finish, once rubbed in.
This product has helped clear up my skin so much! Once I apply it, the blemishes are clear within a day or two. I would highly recommend this to anyone that has skin prone to random breakouts!
Seriously Shine Free Mattifying Oil Free Moisturizer
This moisturizer is also from the brand “Formula 10.0.6” and costs $6.99. The Ulta reviews give it 3.7/5.
This product has been great for my skin and it also works well before applying makeup. When first applying this product it feels a bit greasy, but that goes away after rubbing it in. I personally haven’t noticed a bad smell, but I noticed that some of the Ulta reviews do note that.
The product is very lightweight and is great for someone with oily skin wanting smooth skin.
I hope these reviews have been helpful for anyone trying to find some new skincare items! Also, as I was getting these pictures for the post, I noticed that the “Formula 10.0.6” products are currently BOGO 50% off.
